It's Taken Me a While

It’s hard to beat the quiet stillness of the morning
Sitting on the front porch to watch the boats go by
It won’t be long before the sun brings out the tourists
You’ll find me chasing tarpon on the fly
Some people do it better
But it’s much too late to turn back
And I love the place I’m in right now
It’s taken me a while, and as I look out on the
ocean
I wonder how I ever came this far
All my life I’ve been pretty mellow fellow
I find the silver lining hidden in the clouds
I don’t get angry when they say bad things about
me
I just shake my head and start to laugh out loud
