We Came To Play

We tore it down and we built it up
Constructed well but it’s till erupt
Our heads are high and our hearts are kind
We hear the whistle and we know it’s time
But it was all the same,
The fortune and the fame
They both left before we came
I really can’t complain
There’s no one who’s to blame
All you can hope is to carve
Out a piece of today
We wrote this and laced up our shoes
We came to play, it’s what we do
Refocused, time to follow through
We can’t complain, it’s nothing new
We got together and started out
A new direction but the same old route
And now it’s finished, we’re almost there
A testament to all the years we’ve shared
So at the end of the day
I’m just glad we stayed
Good times are all that’s left to be made
So we’ll be smiling forever,
Lock stock and frame
And content to know we just came to play
