Why I'm Like This

Daylight falls away from me
The jumbles float onward anyway
The hues in the seas are the skies in race
Against the pool of the visible day
And all along, I see what it is I want
If I could just see through these colors
The range is broken
The depth, it feels swollen
I haven’t a clue why I’m like this to start
Why do I want to go on lonely?
A strange duty?, the cure seems away

Morning is like a surrender to me
Today day lights mundane cold winds come up dry from the east
And meet the sealine flush and broken
And that’s where I will swim and play
In the feline colors of the day
And when it gets colder,
Then that’s when I retire
