In a land far away where nightingales warble

Killed at the hands of a drunken guard
A silken white kerchief wrapped round her throat
Saved by her hand for that very moment
Killed by a man refusing atonement
Her soul would take flight from the darkness of the night
And oh how she rose defeating her foes
Preparing the way the dawn of a new day
And all womankind would tear back the blinds
Unchain your hands and beautify the lands
