I played a show a while ago
Walked into town with a buyout to blow
I got pursued by a mean-lookin' dude
I thought he wanted my phone and food, so…
I tried to pick up the pace but soon we got all face-to-face
Then at last he broke the silence and said 'Excuse me, but I love your band,
my man.'
I looked into his eyes
And that’s when I realized that I don’t know anything
All that I thought I knew, only this much is true

Oh well, I did used to feel so definite
Certain about the whole deal
What’s a crock and what’s for real
But it’s hard to survive as an unshakable rock
I know I’ve got to move to stay alive

But just one line can change your mind and raise up that doubt
I was a stubborn man
These days I understand that I don’t know anything
