The dark great river bends below me,
A void of light now tells me so
Where tiny towns crowd its shoulders,
Between the world and all I know …
Thunder rolls beneath my feet
And mountain clouds slide just for show
Flashing green along the border
Between the world and all I know
A woman sang out on a corner
And left longing just today,
To give myself the same surrender,
To lift and give it all away …
I hold have now to this window,
And meet another letting go
Standing just outside of reason,

I’m an hour from arriving,
There from where I rose to go
