Prisoner of Hope

Once I was bound in sin
Without a light of hope within
A prisoner of all that I despised
Until one glorious day, when Jesus tore my bars away
He lifted me, and opened up my eyes!
And He gave me His love, perfect rest from above
And I’ll never want to be set free again
(For now I’m) a prisoner, a prisoner of hope
Bound by cords of love and chains of peace
Jesus has made me free, His prisoner I’ll always be
And from His bonds I’ll never seek release
He gives to me new life I’d never known
