Overboard

Cold, the essence hits my body
My one and only hobby
I close me eyes and relive my mistakes
Please, show me some compassion
Because I’m quickly losing traction
And then a white cap knocks me overboard
I’m sinking towards the bottom
And I still can’t see the problem
I need it in the worst way
I lied in the first place
It’s nothing to brag about I know
But it’s the only thing here that helps me go to sleep
So go to sleep
Help, it’s only getting harder
The unsuspecting martyr
I know I’ll die before I make you proud
Please, one more for the shakes now
So I can wake up face down
Or else I won’t wake up tomorrow
It multiplies the heartache
But still I can’t help but partake
It takes away the pain
But still I’m praying for the rain
To wash away the person that I became
And fill this empty shell
But it’s a feeling I know very well
Please, I need it in the worst way
