Eloquent Verbosity

she held her glass like she needed another
to taste her company and
the wine spills but she’ll soon recover
she’s eloquent verbosity and
i’m on the stairs but she’s still climbing
through the web i try to leave, and
our eyes lock and the room’s divided
my feet float away from me
she held her thoughts like she needed another

i caught a glimpse of the curve of her neck, and
i heard the voices in my head competing

on the carpet with the sweet colliding
imagination stripped to the beat
she’s so close
she’s eloquent verbosity
