Girl from the City by the Sea

If you’re traveling to the city I was born
you might find a girl that I’d once known
still see her dark hair, it blows my mind
she once was a true love of mine
She told me words that I loved to hear
hearing her voice made it so very clear
but she was farther than I could think
'though I knew she was the love I’ve always wished I could find
Tell her I miss her and tell her I’m gone
for all the reasons that she had been told
and in this life I’m still traveling on
