Like Water Like Stone

I’m counting time on a pebbled shore
I see it pass from some to more
I throw a stone and a ripple’s made
I watch it grow until it fades
The journey’s hard and the path is long
I walk the way that keeps me strong
But even mountains end up as sand
Upon the ground for us to stand
A million rain drops are falling now
Into the ocean they are bound
A million circles on the surface placed
They fade as fast as they are traced
We are like water we are like stone
We are of flesh we are of bone
And when the tie is closed and drawn
Like water and stone we are reborn
