Faith is being sure of what you hope for
But is that the same as knowing what you want?
I’ve tried to live the life that I have chosen
But endless longing’s all I ever got
How I wish that you were here
To smile and tell me what a fool I am
To tell me open roads and songs that taste of smoke and gin
Let you down, just like people, in the end
Now the years go by exactly like they want to
And they don’t care how you hurt or what you pray
And even if they listened to my bidding
