Shine

I wake up to the rain outside my window
Every drop a reflection of my inner pain
I gather my strength to get up again somehow
Hide the tears that are lingering on my face
My act can fool for a while
Though inside I’m crying
I know all the reasons to smile
Still my spirit is dying
I keep telling myself
