The boys swore despite chaperones
I danced cheek to cheek
Sneak out intermission
Drink gin or corn liquor with coke
Neck my breast pressed heavy against her chest
Harry was an ice cream
With the boys who muttered in small clusters to or tap dance
We’d meet then go swimming
I’d sit under my Sun umbrella
Climb the high dive, show off some new steps or imitate those I’d seen
I gave a damned good show
We’d wait long after
Let the surface bend our second
I have the Judge’s reputation to protect me
