Long Time Coming

Way out here the stars shine brighter than white
I can see colours in their sparkling light
There is no sound but they are speaking
I’m on my knees and I am weeping
My head in my hands
I touch the ground and it is cool on my skin
I am a window and the stars can see in
They are waiting there for something
I can only think of running
But there’s nowhere to hide
Say, this has been a long time coming

I sink on knee and fist and let out a cry
«What am I meant to be?» I scream at the sky
And I am only met by silence
But it drowns out my defiance
I don’t know who I am
Oh, clarity has now disappeared
The only surety is fast-growing fear

And the universe smiles
