I passed a little shop
And there I had to stop
Inside the window was a tarnish lamp of gold
Bought it, took it home
And when I got alone
Rubbed it like the story I’d been told so long ago
Genie, Genie grant to me
Just one wish and that should be

So it came to be
She fell in love with me
But it didn’t really work out too prfectly
The geni had been kind
But in too little time
He’d given love that came to us too easily

Now the lamp stands by itself
An ornament upon its shelf
Holding up some books, I’ve never read them
