«Amen,» I said from the third row.
Off to bed by 10, it’s all that I know.
And I’m too young to die, yet too old to cry that’s what I’m told.
I’m too young to think that there might not be a tomorrow.
I’m buying my time for now, ‘cuz it don’t cost much.
But I’m losing my sense of how long I have left.
When were young, when we’re young we know not.
«Wear your coat,» she said, «don't want you to freeze.»
«I know.» I said because I’m smart as can be.
But I leave it at home so I can prove I’m not weak.
And nothing that bad could ever happen to me.

I don’t want to wake up, don’t want to put on make up, don’t want to face the
liars,
corruption of the mind that happens over time cuz everybody’s chasing something
that we wasted.
