Easy Going

When I was a younger woman I was scared of many things
And most of all I worried about what the future
Was going to bring
In a way I was a loser, but losing can be a game
That you play when you want to show the world
That you’re in a lot of pain
I thought I’d find a friend in Jesus, but I didn’t
Feel at ease
I swear that I was eager, but he was hard to please
In a way I understand him, 'cause I didn’t want to die.
There were things in life I didn’t want to miss in case
He was a lie.
Oh, let the future come and let it turn into my past
Let me learn in time what’s gonna last.
I will know it when I die and I will think no matter how
I live my life I’ll have to pay some kind of price
To think how foolish I could be
When I thought that easy going was for me
Oh, I burried some pride — I gave it up until I died.
But I don’t think the world was on my side.
When I was a younger woman I was scared of many things,
And most off all I worried about what the future was going to bring.
Now I worry just the same and I still play
Some kind of game
I have just gotten so much better hiding that I’m in pain.
