I was driving into the sunset
Trying to find where it begins
I saw you in my rear view mirror and I stopped to let in
You looked through me with those big blue eyes

We were carving our names into the backseat, passenger side
The radio kept us from sleeping
With just one look at you I left it all behind

With your feet up there on the dashboard
I started to think about fate
Cause a porcelain doll on the side of the road looks a little bit out of place
As we counted lines on the highway
We watched the road pass in the lights
With nowhere to go and without a home at the mercy of the night
With our fingers on the map
Looking back on what seemed so far behind
How was that for spontaneous?
Was it any less than what you were hoping you would find?
