Shit Talk Brigade

I stumbled my way through the summer
While that old shit talk brigade in my head
Sharpened brutal bayonets
They know just where to bury the blade
So the darkest parts of me
Come spilling out into my veins
And leave my heart and brain as casualties
I’ve got a hell of a collection of crutches
Weighing me down
But I’m armorless so I’m playing dead
Until I think they’re not around
But oh my friends
You loving, stubborn cavalry
You never leave me in the trenches
When I’m bleeding
I’ve got reinforcements
My battle worn best friends
To bandage my torn limbs
And give me something to fight for
