Hold still, but she said time moved too fast for her. She was seventeen,
too young to be focused on the life waiting ahead. Blinded by what was trapped
in her head; in her bones, so she could never fully just…
Hold still, I want her to be here with me. I want to hear that sh’ll be here
with m, and she’ll fall asleep on my shoulder. Hours rolling by,
not making us feel older; but pushing memories back so we can make new ones.
Ones I wish were the only ones left when I was ready to let her go;

Trembling, holding back thoughts begging to leave her head, and I sit with her.
Little orange bottle hits the ground, but the pills aren’t inside,
and i touched it and I felt the weight of emptiness, and I touched her,
and I felt the weight of emptiness. I prayed for anything to slow down time,
but she just placed her hand in mine, and as my eyes poured out the words I
couldn’t say, she spoke, and her words were like smoke, and her eyes were like
the moon. She said, «I'm going to sleep now, but I will see you again soon.»
