I Want to Be Normal

Dyed my hair brown months ago
I didn’t feel comfortable in it
Why am I so impressionable?
Dark colors, I’m just not with it
Got my hair tied up and I’m feeling good
No one can take that away from me
Feels like I’m living in Hollywood
I can see it in my dreams
I want to be normal
I want the normalcy
I want to be normal
I want to live my life carefree
I want to be normal
Why is that so hard to be?
I want to be normal
But it’s just easier being me
Blonde suits me just fine
But things change easily
And I know in no time
I’ll be changing peacefully
I like to swim
But the chlorine makes my hair green
The sun makes it yellow
And winter evens out things
But yesterday
Don’t really mean anything to me
I want to be normal
I want the normalcy
I want to be normal
I want to live my life carefree

Why is that so hard to be?
I want to be normal
