so Alexander, we imitate
recreate and approximate
take out your whistle and give it a blow
mesdames et messieurs, let’s start the show
bent down on your creaky knees
you bring to life the flying trapeze
Alexander, life looks good
in wire cloth and wood
the bowlegged horse wins the carriage race
if the lions get loose they’ll wreck the place
a magic scene made of rusty junk
that packs into the masters trunk
Alexander, life’s divine
