Every Day

Here she comes let the day begin
I used to say as she came into my room
Now I’ll never be the same I know
Lonely walls surround, no where to go
We used to talk in the evening light
We used to walk in the morning shining brightly
Now I see the sun I shade my face
Hating this reminder of my place, everyday
I walk the pathway that we shared
I talk to strangers
Ever hoping they will say
She’s here today
Now I refrain from the faintest hope
She still remains in my lifetime forever
If she should ever change her mind
