She was a nobleman’s daughter
He was a dirt-poor cowhand
On the Mexican boarder

For those who gave chase
They forted wild waters

Where the stars in their eyes
Mirrored stars in the skies
As they rode to the light
In the hills of Montana
Where the broad rivers flow
In a snug little cabin
Quite a few years ago
My Grandma and Grandpa
Holding hands by the fire
Told of danger and chance
