A Change of Seasons

Another summer night alone
Days grow short, the air grows colder
But it’s hot as hell within the confines of this small town
Twenty-three never seemed so old
Wind is whistling through the trees that gave us shelter
Seasons change and so have I
A change of seasons brings a bittersweet reminder
Of friendships lost along the way
Colors fade, until I find my way back home
Cold wind blowing once again
Drifting forward, looking back
Dressed in black, the sun has set, we must move on now
