In a Word

When we started down this road
I know that I was right
To have faith that we’d survive
The bitterness of pride
Makes me wonder who decides
Do you believe that God provides?
There’s nowhere left to turn
We’ve given all, they’ve taken but still we learn
In a life where loneliness is strife
There is a word, I believe, that’s worth a second
fight
For there must be many strong, but there’s none as
strong as you
For in a word, I know, we’ll pull each other through
So let them walk this way
Let them see the man
Let them know where I began
When finally they parade
Misfortune and demand
Well then at least they’ll understand
