It seems like only yesterday our little girl was playing
With windup toys and little boys dolls and color crayons
Then at night she’d come to me all sleepy eyed and saying
Daddy will you sing to me when I get through praying
Sing me a nursery rhyme while I count the little sheep

She was our pride and joy a rainbow just beginning
We loved her so we couldn’t see our love was nearly ending
