My friend and me went to a picture show in town
They called his name and said his house had just burnt down
I took his hand and offered him my sympathy
Then suddenly l remembered that he lived with me Well it takes all kinds to make a world

Well l wrecked the heck out of my pretty car today
It was a total loss and l had to walk home all the way
Then a 'phone call said you’re holding ticket seventeen
