Time Is Slippin' Away

It comes as a shock and I don’t know
Where the hell did my life go?
I planted a tree and look at it now
It’s big and half dead and I’m thinkin'
Wow, time is slippin' away
Now sometimes I feel half my age
Then I look in the mirror
I’m just like the old coaches that I see
I’m lookin' at them and they’re lookin' at me
And all of a sudden we’re the old farts in our town
But I won’t complain with all I’ve done, that’s all I know
Workin' out in the mornin' sun, havin' a go
I feel like thankin' something for what I see
So I thank the stars for shining down on me
I can’t handle the heat these days
So I find the shade like and old dog
I have a pair they say and I’m just lazy
I get a bit more done in the evening when it’s cool
But I won’t complain with all I’ve done, that’s all I know
