Your friend was at my door
He has crossed the unknown see and brought your call to my home
The night is dark and my heart is full
But I will turn on the light, open the gate and bow to him my welcome
After all it’s your friend that stands at my door
I’ll worship with folded hands and with tears
I’ll worship placing at his feet the treasures of my life
And he’ll go back with his job done
Leaving a dark shadow on my morning
And in my lonely home
