Song for My Mother

Dear mom its been a while since we last spoke
And i apologize I know its my fault
I should of called so you know your son is OK
I know its hard when I’m 11,000 miles away
I keep you in my heart and I will always hold you there
So If i Dont call never think I don’t care
You know i do, but when we talk i feel guilty
Cuz I hear the pain in your voice and it kills me
Over 11yrs now ive been absent
Im sorry if i made you feel like you’ve been abandoned
I never planned it, but maybe it was destiny
Life took me on another road that was meant for me
But as you get older, times are getting harder
I know I should be there for my mother and my father
And for my brother too I know it ain’t easy
Believe me, I love n miss you all so deeply
I reminisce on the day that I said goodbye
Gave you a kiss and was so sad to see you cry
It was the first time I seen Dad shed a tear
And i was only supposed to be gone for a year
But i Settled here, and i know it made you hurt
Having your son on the other side of the world
But As a boy became a man I learned a lot of things
About Life, All the joy and the pain it brings
And when Times get tough you know I soldier on
Memories of the past help me move along
I won’t lie it ain’t easy being all alone
And if you ain’t here i can never call it home
Its a lonely road, got me feeling down and out
But i got a family of my own now to think about
