Out Of My Mind

Out of my mind, that’s what she said to me, she was unkind, said I was crazy.
I thought that was cruel, she didn’t know me at all,
What can you do when someone tells you you’re insane?
She heard the news, knew all about me, I was too strange.
She could do very well without me, and I didn’t cry, I tried to say hello.
But it makes you feel crazy when somebody calls you insane.
I tried to tell her things were all right with me, she wouldn’t listen for a minute,
But then when she told me it was all in my mind, what else can a poor boy do?
It pays to let her fly over to the table
Where the games were measured out in thin white lines.
The last time I saw her, she was stoned out of her mind,
How many minds had she sent spinning only to find they hadn’t gone anywhere at all?
I said that was sad, she didn’t understand
It hurts in your heart when somebody says you’re insane.
