Moving Pictures

Up and down the silver path
aided by the draft
We ride
cars and people signs and hills and steeples drifting on by
I see statues in the rain
coats and hats and canes
They pass
Wondering if you’re right behind
staying in the dotted line
You fade in you fade out
Like moving pictures
Flashes in my mind
All you leave behind
On the set you’re dressed in blue
Cameras and lights on you
With that fearless shaded eye
Does it ever leave you dry?
Maybe it’s that heavy load or that open road
You live
Taking photos in my head
hearing all that you said
