Out along the harbour, I find myself one lucky afternoon
I wait a couple hours, 'til the stevedores and coolies pack it in
I visit with the fishergirls, and there I find you troublemade
And fey
You tell me you’re just leaving, and I’m busy but I cannot
Bear to see you walk away
Hanging back a minute with the black molasses devils at the
Threshold
I see you slip in to the water, phosphorescence blooming all
Around
I follow at a distance, constellations bursting overhead
And rows of sunken candles illuminate the lazer-lines of
Brightly coloured thread
What I mean to say is what it meant to me
To follow you, it was serendipity
You stood pointing at the moon
Silently, and then I could see
I was radicalised by you
Infinities reeling outward, wilding through the island everafter
Divinty’s voice has sounded, revelations joy and endless
Laughter
A remedy for distemper, a fabled country fill signs and
Wonder
A ravishing bolt of lightning, a strike to rend the ancient ways
Asunder
