Rain

The Rain it slowly comes
The rain it beats and drums
On my roof and my window, calling to me
thunder it rattles and hums
As thousands of beating drums
Deafening, shattering, clattering, toppling trees
This voice it rings like a bell
Where it comes from I can’t tell
Coaxing me out to, coaxing me out to the sea.
Outside the rain stings my face
For the rain has come to erase
The rain is coming to claim me
Night it swallows whole
From innocent hands it stole
Carried off in the distance above the trees
I gather up all of my strength
And strip off my clothes at the bank
As I cast myself out to the sea
Her voice still clear in my mind
My heart it starts to unwind thrashing and churning my part with the sea
