Leaning

Leaning on a windowsill
Looking at the street below
Thinking it might take some time to walk from there to here
I turn around and face the room
And there is music from the stereo
The only time I am right is when you’re wrong so don’t lean on me
There is someone at the door
I walk towards the hall
And hoping that it’s you I turn the key
Driving for another hour will take us to that rental room
Were talking about before we met I’m glad that I’m not like then
Sleeping in a worn out bed
Where lovers carved their names before
Now we would never do such things but still we feel like them
I wake up and get dressed
Pay the room and get the car
It’s you behind the wheel — I turn the key
Waiting through a stack of bills
While glancing through a magazine
There are really only means to pass the time and wait for you
There is someone at the door
