13 in my head again
thinking what I could have been.
Remember when we slayed the truth
we told them all we had the flu.
Black light posters on the wall
we barely made it down the hall
innocently wasted in our youth.
What do we say now that we made it.
Past the age now, when we’re fated
to living out the same old stories
while we’re searching for the glory
in our yesterdays, seems like yesterday.
13 in my head tonight
I wasn’t looking for a fight.
A lot to say for solitude
call me when you’re in the mood.
In the meantime I’ll be found
buried in the basement turning up loud,
desperately searching for my youth
