Fear of the Lord

If you call out for discernment
And shout loudly for understanding
If you seek it like a man seeking silver
And search for it like hidden treasure
You will understand how to fear the Lord
Turn your ear to wisdom
Apply your heart to understanding
Call out for insight and cry aloud, cry aloud
Look for it as silver
Search as for a hidden treasure
Then you will know
The fear of the Lord
I will trust in the ways of the Lord
I will not be afraid or unsure
I know what keeps me safe and secure
Is the Fear of the Lord
I will walk and obey all His Words
I will not love the things of this world
Fill my heart with what is holy and pure
And the Fear of the Lord
His eyes are on those who fear Him
Who hope in His unfailing love
What does He ask but that we fear the Lord our God?
I make a vow to hear You and obey
Faithful to walk in Your ways, everyday
With all my heart, my mind — all my soul
I love You Lord, Your wisdom makes me bold
Worth more than diamonds, silver and the gold
I’m content with You and You alone!
Fear of the Lord, it brings me life
It’s my delight, keeps me humble and wise
We will trust in the ways of the Lord
We will not be afraid or unsure
We know what keeps us safe and secure
Is the Fear of the Lord

We will not love the things of this world
Fill our hearts with what is holy and pure
