Left behind in the dark
Lost and afraid of the darkness in my heart
Searching forgiveness in your eyes
Knowing it will be forever denied
Once cold and torn
Wrapped in my cocoon
I feel save and warm
No need to embrace
The truth you don’t want to face
I’ve made my escape
Even though I’m
Too paralysed to start again
Anesthetised I feel no pain
Hypnotised can’t run away
I’m much too terrified to stay
Inside my shell I no longer hurt
Invisible I cannot be disturbed
Within these walls no one’s able to judge
No matter what I cannot be touched
