This Day

Walking beside you in the late setting sun
The wind plays in your hair as the waves roll into shore
And my whole world is changing
Seeing through your eyes
Please take me with you
To the place where I belong
And help me find a way to make this world my own
And this day last forever
Turn the course of time
When the sun meets the horizon
The waves will wash our footprints from the sand
All our memories will be fading
Like drops of water, carried by the wind
And through the rift in time
Leaving behind us the last summer sun
The last ships have sailed, the distant lights are on
And the cold rain of autumn will be coming soon
