Pleasuring the Divine

I was longing to be near
The changing sea
With repetitious praise
And symphonic reverie
Where I could lose you to a word
Eternal and reserved
Where I could meld into your side
Until the mystery’s satisfied
I thought of all we loved
And what love wanted of our lives
And through a stand of ancient pine
We kissed each other’s wives
Forever we will spy, forever we will hide
Inside the heart of every child
Plucked from the bitter vine
Life’s seemingly sublime
And what more is a man expected to give
When he’s pleasuring the divine?
