My Brother Paul

Well, I’ve been sittin' round the house here, day by day
I ain’t got much to do, but there’s always lots to say
Well, doctor dropped in, and he said my blood was low
And I ain’t worked since, hee, it’s been about five years though
Moved to a brand-new house, got nice pictures on the wall
'Course, it belongs to my brother, his name’s Paul
I’m wearin' his suit, he bought it brand-new
I drive a nice car, but that’s his too
There really ain’t much mine, 'cept my overalls
And they was dirty when I found 'em hangin' out in the hall
But my brother Paul, he’s makin' a pretty big pay
So I’m eatin' pretty regular, hah, 'bout ten times a day
Once in a while, you know I step out for a munch
'Cause my credit’s always good, down at my brother’s lunch
Y’know, I think I’ll get married t’ords the end o' the fall
'Cause my girlfriend’s tired o' runnin' around with Paul
Now, seein' that my brother’s pretty good to me
Eh, I don’t think this here house would be too small for three
But if the house starts gettin' too small for the four
Well, I think my brother’s gonna have to sleep with the guy next door
But he’s understandin' that way, my brother Paul
I only hope that my brother can support us all
'Cause iffin' he can’t do it, I’m gonna have to get a divorce
Lessin' my wife’d rather start workin' the course
