I’ve been waiting
At the Greyhound station all night
Searching for her sweet face
In every car that goes by
She knew I was coming in
Only eight-oh-five
Something must have happened
Or she’d have been here on time
I feel a little restless
I guess I’ll get something to eat
Maybe a drop a few quarters
In one of them little TVs
I probably oughtta call her
It’s getting kinda late
There’s no answer
She must be on her way
I’ll read her letter again, searching for the truth
She never came right out and said we’re through

This old duffel bag
Makes a decent pillow for my head
But these plastic seats
Ain’t much of a bed
They just announced
The last bus heading home
But it would break her heart
