Breathing Flames, Blackened Tongue

Within our veins run oceans of black and crimson fuel for flame
and to no end, again, we swim upstream
Now, we’re waterlogged and choke down litres of oil as it air is waiting to
appear
We breathe but a life without is distant memory
You’ll see that there' more to me than you think there could be
One match to strike down
Incinerate to the ground
No doubt, you feed off the fallen, what then?
Cinder and ash now replace the tongue and face down
you’ll never know the air again
I’ll watch the furnace die within
and treading softly, I can hear the slow intake
and then you’re here so promptly.
