For Dean we prayed for God to save him
We prayed to keep him in the light
Too strong to feel the clock was ticking
Two months too weak to win the fight

to look past the skin and scarring years
what’s left behind is just a heap of muscle
the heart gives in to decay and disappears)
Everybody was praying for him
But every body ends up in the ground
Even wolves will die with voices calling
To a moon that shines, but never makes a sound
Now tears are swelling from his mother
And years are passing by like sand
He’ll hold on to each breath of fire
And I’ll hold on to his hand
The meters rang a tone like silence
The room trembled like the voice
That called the time
That said his name
That treated death and sin the same
To all his friends
To love his life
To make a mark before he died
To feel the force
Of words like «death»
For every count of every breath
I loved the way
He said goodbye
And I prayed everyday
And he laid in the grave
we praised anyway
