something that my father said to me
that stuck with me since i came to be
nothing ever, the man never said a word
packed up his noose and left me hanging by the door
lets talk about faith and how i can find it
i’ll tell you about my father and how i never found him
and how i’ve boarded up my past
with apathetic nails and «broken glass»
sometimes the good ones go
and the bad ones leave
but the only thing you’ve made
is a memory out of me
struggled and slipped through my fathers hands
as he silently struggled with his vice again
the death and birth of a ghost
two different worlds of dirt
sink to feel,
suture scars to help me heal
i’ve said goodbye to my past
just taking after you i guess
i’ll carry this cross carved from the family tree
rings of resentment passed down to me
made the realization i wasn’t born to see
so i’ll fade into you as you can sink into me
