There’s too many chickens on the farm mother
Not enough hens that lay
Land’s gone dry from the heat mother
It’s gone hard to stay
Now the pump won’t pump, and the hen won’t lay
The grain don’t take, it’s blown away
Ma we’re sinking, we got to fight today
We’ve got to pull together, get on steam and make it while we can
There’s too much drinking on the farm mother
