The telephone rang from across the hall
And it felt like Christmas morning
Seagulls smashed their prey against the wall
And devoured them without warning
Through a fool’s eyes
Every place is paradise
And the mystery won’t be revealed to me
Until the sun rises in the west
747 crashed outside my window
And the media arrived
Cameras and reporters asking questions
Was anyone left alive?
