Dead Monochrome

struggling to keep the head
above water in a stormy sea
gambling life for real freedom
freedom from a life of quiet despair
facing what’s trying to kneel you down
like in a game where you sit down to win
and don’t get up while you are losing
as forgotten as a man in a coffin
nobody can do anything for you
the path to freedom requires loneliness
determination, and a kind of fury
